Moonchild Concert at The National, Richmond, VA

I attended the Moonchild Waves Tour concert at The National in Richmond, VA, on April 5, 2026! It was great to see them perform again after opening for them 2 years prior at The Richmond Jazz Festival. The show started with the opener, Brittney Carter, and she had a great performance! She's an amazing lyricist, and her production was great as well. She featured Richmond native Ronnie Luxe on one of her songs, and I had a chance to chat with them after the performance. Before the headline act, my friend and tour manager, Charlie Outram, introduced another one of my friends, Dana Williams, along with her business partner, Kenda Sutton-EL, and they highlighted their organization, Birth In Color. Now for the main attraction, Moonchild! Their performance was awe-inspiring and visually stunning! They performed records from their latest project "Waves" as well as various favorites from their other projects! Each band member at various times had their time to shine, and as a collective, performed refreshing takes on their music! After the show, I was able to meet with them backstage, and surprisingly, they remembered me from two years ago! They were very happy to see me and happy that I came to their show! Overall, it was an amazing and inspiring experience!
